To provide Case Study information for use in the GCSE examination

 

Objectives

The student should learn about:

(a) The location of Mt. St.Helens in relation to major tectonic features;

(b) The effects of the eruption on the volcano;

(c) The effects of the eruption on the surrounding area;

(d) The human and social consequences of the eruption.

 

Outcomes

The student should have knowledge and understanding of:

(a) A recent volcanic eruption;

(b) The primary and secondary consequences of volcanic eruptions;

(c) How eruptions influence areas long after the initial event.
